Services

Weight Management

An Accredited Practising Dietitian can work with you to improve motivation and set realistic weight goals. Janice believes there’s no one-size-fits-all approach – everyone’s motivation, goals and lifestyle are different.

Janice supports clients in making sustainable dietary changes to improve body composition while ensuring it’s still a healthy, nutritionally balanced, and delicious meal!

Diabetes

An Accredited Practising Dietitian can help you to understand the relationship between food and blood sugar levels. Some benefits of involving a dietitian include improvements in blood sugars and reduced risk of diabetes-related complications.

Janice has extensive experience with the dietary changes that can help manage pre-diabetes, type 1 and 2 diabetes.

Cholesterol Management

An Accredited Practising Dietitian can offer advice on improving your cholesterol levels, which is very important for heart health!

Janice discusses different types of food and how they can affect your “good” and “bad” cholesterol levels with clients. Dietary changes can be helpful before or after commencing cholesterol medications.

Nutrient Deficiencies

An Accredited Practising Dietitian can help if your diet is low in particular nutrients, such as calcium and iron. Some people with calcium or iron deficiencies want to improve their diet before taking supplements. Janice will take a detailed diet history and discuss the sources of high calcium or high iron food with you.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

An Accredited Practising Dietitian can help to identify the food that may be causing abdominal discomfort and bowel problems. Janice will ask about your symptoms and diet history and may try a low FODMAP diet with you.

Janice can suggest you swap out some foods and ensure your diet is still well-balanced after the changes. She will meet with you again and to discuss the results together. Janice has undertaken the low FODMAP diet for IBS course from Monash University.

Malnutrition

An Accredited Practising Dietitian can support clients at risk of or are malnourished (poor nutrition status). A common group of at-risk populations are the elderly, cancer patients, cognitive decline, and Parkinson’s Disease, which results in loss of appetite or loss of weight without trying. Janice will work with the client and family to improve nutritional status, body weight, and physical function. Janice will discuss nourishing meals and snacks, quick and easy meal prep, or recommend an oral nutrition supplement if needed.
